-The relationship between the young handsome guy driving the BMW and the super-wealthy looking older lady passenger was clearly romantic, and while it was kind of awkward we were like "Way to go lady.

-That lawyer was really nice. He told us we should go sleep at the YMCA. I may have offended him by dissing the field of psychology... before he told us he had a Masters in it.

- On one of our trips we both bought sausages from a truck stop and sat on the curb in the parking lot to eat them. And immediately wondered why the hell two vegetarians just bought sausages.

Other hitching things that happened:

- I got stuck hanging out with a truck driver by myself for three hours outside of Truro, waiting for another trucker to come pick up his cargo.

- A guy ran over my foot and then tried to convince me to join the army.

- The balloon story (maybe a LATER BLOG POST)

- Picked up by a crew of partying friends in an expensive SUV who were watching Reservoir Dogs playing in their REARVIEW MIRROR. Later another carload of their friends drove by and a woman flashed us. They gave me a beer.

- Picked up by the mom of the keyboardist in the band we saw the night before. WTF.

God there are so many more.

Do you remember on the way home it was pouring and that amazing nice couple picked us up and dropped us off near Truro (maybe?) and offered to come back and see if we were still there in a little while? They were the best.

Oh! Also! The couple who picked us up in their two-door convertible BMW and we were squished in to the tiny back seat soaking wet with our sleeping bags and all our junk. They drove us all the way back to Charlottetown listening to...fuck, I wish I remembered what they listened to. But I do remember it was hilarious.

Or the trucker who sang along at the top of his lungs to the entire Jagged Little Pill album! Or the trucker who asked us about PEI moonshine! Or that lawyer who knew my aunt!

Oh my god that was an amazing time! I'm so glad we did that.

I really loved that CBC article about the lack of legal barriers to abortion (CBC has been giving the issue some fairly thoughtful attention lately, big ups). It almost seems like no one official was even aware of that (or they just didn't want to acknowledge it).

Too bad no doctor would probably ever take the risk and perform abortions anyway.

Dude thanks for the PRRO love. What a weird month. At the very least we exposed how LITTLE our Government knows about junk.
Oof.

I was out weeding the other evening in our garden and for some reason smelled my hand between pulling stuff up - ends up I almost pulled up a bunch of mint plants! I suck at gardening but I have planted a bunch of veg and they are coming up!!!

I love that weird looking plant type rock thing!
